What the quiz covers
India's Parliament is made up of the President and two Houses: the Lok Sabha (House of the People) and the Rajya Sabha (Council of States). Questions test the basics, such as who presides over each House, and move on to how Bills pass, how sessions work and how Parliament holds the government to account.

What is the maximum gap allowed between two sessions of Parliament?
Answer: Six months. Six months must not pass between the last sitting of one session and the first of the next. Source: Constitution of India, Art. 85(1)
What is the quorum for a sitting of either House?
Answer: One-tenth of total members. A House needs one-tenth of its total membership present to conduct business. Source: Constitution of India, Art. 100(3)
When does the Speaker vote in the Lok Sabha?
Answer: Only to break a tie. The Speaker does not vote in the first instance but has a casting vote in a tie. Source: Constitution of India, Art. 100(1)
Who presides over a joint sitting of both Houses?
